Workshop in Porto Velho helps to improve the control tools of the cattle chain
Important discussions between meatpackers, companies and environmental entities took place at the workshop held this Tuesday (30/11) in Porto Velho (RO) to build capacity in the Protocol for Auditing Cattle-Ranching Commitments in the Amazon.
Organized by the Beef on Track Program, a partnership between the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Imaflora, the event laid out the guidelines and procedures for the verification of the Term of Adjustment of Conduct (TAC) for Beef.
"This workshop has given us a greater understanding and vision to increasingly improve the control and governance tools and especially to give compliance and support to the links in the cattle-breeding chain," said Hélio Dias de Souza of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock for the State of Rondonia (Federação da Agricultura e Pecuária do Estado de Rondônia - Faperon). "It will add security and show the market that we are doing the right thing, even though we are in the Amazon," he added.
The event this year was attended by representatives from the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock for the State of Rondonia (Federação da Agricultura e Pecuária do Estado de Rondônia - Faperon), the National Rural Apprenticeship Service (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Rural - Senar), the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária - Embrapa), the Brazilian Soil Conservation Society (Sociedade Brasileira de Conservação do Solo - SBCS), Marfrig, Minerva, JBS and Frigomil.
